OUR STORY

Sunny Picnic was born from a deeply personal belief: the moments we remember most happen when we gather with the people we love. The founder's aunt had a gift for gathering. For making people feel seen, welcomed, and at ease in each other's company. After losing her aunt to COVID-19, the founder sought a way to honor her legacy of bringing people together. She left that gift behind when she passed of COVID-19 and with it, a question her niece could not stop carrying: how do you keep people together when the world has just pulled them apart?

In 2022, as Chicago emerged from isolation, she created Sunny Picnic as an invitation to reconnect to slow down, step outside, and be fully present with one another. What began as a tribute became Chicago's premier luxury picnic experience. By handling every detail from design and styling to setup and cleanup. Sunny Picnic transforms the city's beautiful parks and lakefront into thoughtfully curated settings for meaningful celebrations.

We are a small team with a very specific obsession: making the outdoors feel as considered and comfortable as the finest indoor setting. We think Chicago's parks, lakefronts, and green spaces deserve to be treated that way. So do the people in them.
